Dropmyemail, the most comprehensive email backup solution in the cloud, is taking the next step to increase its presence in North America by opening a sales and business development office in Dallas, Texas.
In the 5 short months since the launch at DEMO Asia ’12, Singapore-based Dropmyemail has achieved plenty in winning numerous accolades from DEMO Asia ’12 and Echelon ‘12, reaching 911,000+ signups, purchasing US-based cloud backup service – OrbitFiles and more. Now, Dropmyemail is continuing its phenomenal growth with setting up shop in what is known as the “Telecommunication Corridor”.
“Dallas is the “Telecommunication Corridor” of the US. It is the global headquarters to AT&T, the 2nd largest telecommunication company in the US. It also houses several regional & global HQ’s such as Samsung Telecommunications, Texas Instruments, and many others. We are looking for US partners in the space for our cloud-to-cloud email backup service solution,” says John Fearon, CEO and Founder of Dropmyemail.
He goes on to explain further that the move to Dallas instead of the usual Silicon Valley in San Francisco is taken strategically for strinking up key collaborations.
“We currently have had interest from both Samsung Telecommunication and AT&T. We are also exploring partnerships with other technology and telecommunications companies.”
Fearon believes that telecommunications companies’ interest in cloud-to-cloud backup represents a global opportunity.
“We have found that telecommunications companies globally are interested in bringing our solutions to their vast base of consumer customers to help back up their emails and phone data.”
For telecommunication companies all over the world, Dropmyemail offers a value-adding solution to their massive user base. Year of declining revenues has awakened these companies to take action as global usage of SMS and phone calls decrease with the advent of alternatives like Whatsapp and Skype. With its newly launched, “File Manager”, Dropmyemail facilitates effortless share attachment and find attachment. Dropmyemail lets users interact with their email attachment like never before and provides more ways to organize emails better.
The new office will be headed by Chris Axberg, Dropmyemail’s Head of North America (ex-Yahoo South East Asia Regional Director) who says,
“Dropmyemail’s offer is unique and brings a cloud based back up solutions to the US market just as it is does in Asia. We are one of a kind globally in the cloud backup space. Our goal remains to back up the Internet.”
Dallas is a stepping stone for Dropmyemail to expand and scale up in the US. Dropmyemail has hired and will continue to hire talented business development and sales people in the US. There are further plans to eventually expand to New York, Chicago, and San Francisco to pursue further partnerships and sales.
The Dallas office is now the 3rd international office after the Mumbai and Buenos Aires which opened simultaneously 2 months ago. In the near future, Dropmyemail’s Head of EMEA, Charif El Ansari (ex-Google SouthEast Asia Head of Business Development) will set up the 4th office to pursue Dropmyemail’s interests in the region.
